We're going to chat a bit today about Web3 versus Web 3.0 and what the difference is. The truth is that none of this is fully realized yet. So don't take it to heart if you don't understand it. That's why we're having these conversations.

What is Web 3.0?

Web 3.0 is what is considered semantic web. This focuses more on efficiency and intelligence by reusing and linking data across different websites.

What is Web3?

Web three is decentralized web. This puts a strong emphasis on security and empowerment by returning the control of data and identity to you as the user. What this all means is that Web 3.0 was focused more on innovation and convenience for users. While Web3 really prioritizes that decentralization and security.

It's a lot of jargon but don't let it confuse or make you falter in terms of your interest and excitement about what's to come. Ultimately, as I've said before, it's going to just be called the web. So that's our little take on Web3 versus Web 3.0.
